Trucks

You may think at first glance that a truck is no different from a dolly; after all, they're both tools with wheels that let you carry things. However, the differences between the two are much deeper than that. There is an entirely different kind of utility for trucks that makes them just as valuable as a dolly.

Dollies can handle more weight than an average hand truck can, and they are typically cheap. So, it seems that all your business needs are a few dollies, right? Well, the answer isn't so simple. Let's say you're trying to move in a new appliance still in its box, and it weighs 200 pounds. To load that onto a dolly, you'd have to pick the appliance up and then put it onto the dolly's platform—not impossible, but a substantial physical effort. A hand truck could easily slide underneath the box and enable most any user to easily tilt it back and wheel the box to its destination.

Hand trucks are also useful for tasks not related to weight, but practicality. Some boxes or other cargo may be awkward to pick up and hang onto. The design of a truck, thankfully, makes it so that you can carry such types of objects quickly. Simply scoop up your cargo and you'll carting it away in no time.

You should also consider that hand trucks have more movement flexibility than dollies do. With a truck, you can move objects up and down stairs. The truck can be tilted on its wheels, which enables the user to drag the truck up each step or push it down each step easily. Thanks to the L-shaped design of a hand truck, you won't need to worry about objects sliding off as you carry them.

Want a larger piece of equipment with the design of a hand truck? You can try a platform truck, which looks like a kind of cross between a dolly and a hand truck. You likely won't be going up slopes or stairs with these, but they have the same time of accessible handle that hand trucks have while also accommodating many more items and pounds than a hand truck.

Trucks are just as important for storage and transport as dollies or any other piece of equipment. They cannot be easily substituted, so it's more than worth it to invest in one. Why not pick one up for yourself and see what a difference it can make?
